Jared & The Mill
Jared & The Mill
We're 5 best friends from Arizona, we love our land, we love the desert, we love the mountains, and we love the people. We love each other. We love bonfires and chili lights and Sonoran dogs (look it up) we love dive bars drenched with neon signs, carne asada Tacos at 3 am, we love dirty jokes, we love asking each other what we think about things, we love margaritas, we love Van Halen and jimmy Buffett as much as we love Simon & Garfunkel, Kendrick Lamar, and Gregory Alan Isakov. We love dogs, we love our van Tamata (think "tomato" with a cowboy accent), we love you, it's true.

Over the course of the past few years we’ve released 3 EPs, an album, and played everywhere from Macon Georgia, to Seattle Washington, to New Castle England, even Djibouti Africa (long story, ask us about it). We’ve headlined some tours, hit the road with fellow bands making their name like us, and been lucky enough to share stages and open for some lovely people; like the War on Drugs, Zac Brown Band, Allen Stone, Ron Pope, and many others we look up to. From arenas to dirty dive bars, to theaters, and clubs, we love the road and have toured a lot. Along the way we’ve seen our fan base grow steadily and learned a few things about traveling the country in a van (never forget to fill up on gas in Ft. Stockton West Texas) Our fans (the pack) are our greatest investment, we love them, we really do, and we do our best to insure them that we can’t do this without them.

We've literally done everything to this point without a whole lot of assistance (label, suits, the man), and our music and demeanor reflects that authenticity. In our sound and in our show we are unabashedly ourselves, allowing us to pull off the smallest introspective folk tune in the crowd, or a loud guitar spastic rock out on stage, and still really pull it off for our fans. We fucking love playing on and off stage.

We’ve spent maybe too much time on the road and have grown up relying on ourselves and each other, through heartbreak, through personal struggle, and through missing holidays and special moments at home. These sacrifices are worth it though, and its it only makes us huddle even tighter. The show we put on brings people together in that same way; singing with everybody in the crowd, having peoples arms around one another howling, being honest about regrets, and accepting each other as we are. We care, a lot. Between visiting fans in the hospital (LET’S HYPERLINK TO ONE OF THE HIGH PROFILE MEDIA OUTLETS THAT WROTE ABOUT THIS) to coming out and playing songs for fans too young to get into venues before the show, we love and care for everyone who gives us their trust and attention and ears to play for.

We're liberally minded, and that's ok. We confront opposition, we're not violent, we believe in understanding, and celebrate people's differences. We want to spread open mindedness and caring with our music and at our shows cuz that shits badass. Our message is one of acceptance, not in a circle sitting 'kum-baya' bullshit way, but in a way of acknowledging that we all have shit we regret, and we all have passions and opinions, and it's up to all of us to filter through our flaws and our regrets to find ourselves. Don’t judge other people, do your best to have a good time in life, and care about everybody, like "everybody" everybody. Our music is about the shit we go through, and we want people who have been through shit to feel like they aren’t alone.
